Ford Motor Company – New Press Installation Project

Dear Mr. Moore:

I wanted to take a moment and provide feedback on what great organization that you have. The Ford Motor Company - New Press Installation Project was no small task. Within less than a year, we installed (4) new Tandem Line Presses, (2) New Blanker Presses and all the associated equipment that came in via ships from China.

The logistical plan was of great concern to all, with the requirement that a ship reach port every (2) months and knowing that we would peak in the summer of 2013, installing (4) presses simultaneously! These types of projects are few and far between!

Moving of over (600) standard semi loads and (60) specialized heavy pieces (some being as heavy as 300,000 Pounds). Again…the logistics could have had a major impact to the project.

From the 1st day meeting you and Steve Laurain at the warehouse and to the close-out of the project, we treated to nothing but 100% professional service!

The organization and cleanliness of the warehouse was excellent! Expediting equipment needed, along with associated labeling so that common components did not get confused between press lines was phenomenal. Your response to our emergency request to address critical project needs was admiral as well. The database system you have in place was utilized by many to be able to track real-time inventory. Additionally, the knowledge of your staff relative to transportation issues and creative cost saving thinking was a great asset to our team.

As I move forward to execute other Major Automotive Projects, I will be sure to share with others the efficiencies of utilizing General Transit!
